Unfortunately you can’t!

You need to be connected with your PS3 to the Playstation Network and, then, insert the game disc and voilà the game update will be done!

Pssst… WalMart has decided that corporate wide it will start to downsize CD displays and selections and replace those isles with Blu-Ray isles now that over 1,000 titles of Blu-Ray movies are available including OVER 200+ music concert series in Blu-Ray. The other shoe… just dropped. I also have noticed all the HD-DVD supporters are playing catch up with back releases to Blu-Ray format such as a new Lucas 3D Blu-Ray trilogy of Star Wars, Indiana Jones and ET that may NOT require paper glasses. Can’t wait for Blu-Ray in Eagles Melbourne Concert, Neil Diamond Hot August and 17 Elvis movies in state-of-the-art audio choices like THX. Mahalo nui Aloha Nov 2008

Because of two reasons: it is important to know the Playstation store US update to compare it with the EU one and because making a US account and using a proxy it is really easy to access the us store from europe.
